This mortal life is somewhat like
Standing before the breeze
When it's blowing, so soothing and calm
We enjoy it with ease.
But when it comes in a fearsome way
It blows us with force and washes out,
Uprooting with all it's might
Even though we try to resist and fight.
It plays with us like feathers and leaves
Just wiping out in a whisk.
Again after the wreckage and ruin
The same breeze becomes cool and fine
A mild breeze over the garden and fields
Gently blowing under bright sun shine.
Those who survived that earlier blow
Find it to be so caring and hue -
Though at the cost of so many's life.
This breeze as our carrier of life
Don't know where it'll put us at last.
This mortal life is like water bids-
Tilting on lotus leaves,
None is sure about -
As how this life will end.
Still we all have to try our best
Keeping our spirit at height.

Amitava
............a wonderful and positive message.....we must keep our spirits bright....
Life is beautiful, soothing and calm until sorrow and turmoil come slamming into us doing with us whatever it will, giving us no choice in the matter. When things quiet down, we find we've survived, but to what a great loss now being faced. Our endings in life are uncertain, yet we have to keep doing what we can to get through it. Very poignant poem of life's truthfulness, Amitava. Imagery is superb! You described life so aptly through imagery of nature, very intense. Another favorite of mine. RoseAnn
Sometimes, Life like a gentle breeze pats us on our face and shoulders, but quite unexpectedly it gathers the ferocity of a storm sweeping us off our feet and blowing us hither and thither like dry leaves.. Very apt imagery!
a fitting imagery is used for this mortal life...you have carried it so well till the end of the poem! ! !
