My Little Yellow Bird. Poem by Amitava Sur

My Little Yellow Bird.

Rating: 5.0

My lovely little yellow bird,
So soft and cute
Lost in a stormy night,
I cannot find you,

O' my little lovely bird -
Where have you vanished?
Don't deceive me in this way
I'll die beside you.

Why did you come to me
With so much splendor and beauty,
You hijacked my heart and soul
In a moment without notice.

Now again you're lost out
In the vast open sky,
No where can I find you
After that stormy night.

From pillars to posts, in days and nights
I'm searching for you,
Being alienated since I have lost.
I'm very lonely without you.

I'll keep you within these two arms
And embrace with a kiss,
I'll hold you so close and firm
That you can never go again.

O' my little yellow bird
Don't wander around
Come back and cool my heart
I'm only waiting for you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This a poem written with a blankness in the mind when my heart cries for my loved whom I don't find even if I long to meet.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Wandering through a storm in your mind, looking for your lost love, who once filled your life with beauty and joy. Searching everywhere for your love, being disappointed at not finding her, falling into a deep loneliness while waiting for her return. Your life now foreign even to itself. You have touched my heart, Amitava, your sadness fills my heart with your pain - let it console your being. RoseAnn

Your lovely yellow bird must be sheltered in loving hands.... When the due time comes, once and for ever you'll be united with her.... Let this thought console you! Poignant write!
