No Exit From His Heart! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

No Exit From His Heart!

The departure lounche
of the Pacific Flyers
at Tullamarine airport
was packed to the full.
When the flight crew came,
the passengers formed a line
with the Passport and the Boarding Pass.
A quick-footed mom sitting beside him
rose and dashed to be the third in line.
He joined the queue in the middle
but the penetrators with an indulgent smile
pushed him back and back to be in the last five.

He found his seat in the flight enthroned
by the same quick-winged mom.
" I think you're not in your seat",
he said, with a ludic face. She smiled and babbled:
"please take the next seat. It's mine".
"O.K! Enjoy the pleasures of the first seat! "
He responded like a humorous man.
She shook his hand and uttered thanks.
Her words rocketted him to go up in the sky.

When the hostess brought hot and cool drinks,
She asked him what he wanted. "Any juice", he said.
The mom got two glasses of ‘Orange Juice"
and gave them both to him, saying
"long journey needs more fruit juice!
She got the breakfast and put the plate
on his lap. A slight touch of her hand
made his spirit bubbling.
She covered herself with the woolen towel
and asked him if he didn't feel cold.
He put his hand on hers to give some warmth
and she made not much of it.
She sprayed some scent on her face and body
and applied lipstick to her lips and smiled.
When the hostess brought wines, she asked him,
"What wine you want? "."If you don't mistake me,
I take a little red wine", he told her.
She got two cups of wine, gave a cup to him
and said ‘cheers! ' drinking the wine in the second.

They shared their family details.
He called her to visit India
and assured his company to her till she leaves.
She gave him her cell number and told him
to give a ring to her after two days.
Different lunch packs we got and shared some stuff.
When the flight waited for the signal
from the Hong Kong airport, the image of the flight
fell into the waters of the sea.
She got the help of the hostess to leave the flight first
and catch the flight to Tokhyo. When she said bye,
"Thank you so much. Your manners have placed you here",
he told her by patting on his chest.

He never slept in the flight from Hong Kong to Chennai.
He was quiet staring at the ipad the movement of the flight.
He got back home and talked freely with all
yet the rosy lipped mom is still in his heart.
Waiting for two days was like climbing up the Himalayas.
He ranged her number on the third day and whispered:
"My God! No ring tone. The call ends soon! ".
In the third, fourth, fifth and in all the days of that month,
he never struck contact with that mom.
"God bless me, if I am going mad! ", he said prayers
and wondered, " Can a gentle heart give a wrong number? ".
He would ring to her again and again even for some years
as he believes that gentle hearts don't cheat.
There is no exit for the mom from his heart!
