Not Another Love Poem Poem by Jana Rininger

Not Another Love Poem

I reach for you
When I'm all alone
Lost without a clue
Not knowing what to do
But steady hands guide me,
Pull me out of the crowd
Give me light to see
Hearing my every plea
From towering hills
At a rock concert
To taking one too many pills,
I know he'll love me still.

Even if my heart's a battleground,
And my rebellion flares,
Around his guitar strings I'm wound,
Listening to the softest of all sounds.
There's no escape
from this binding force
Just wait for our futures to shape,
For the white veil to drape.

We drive too fast
Singing to steering wheels
While our music's set to blast.
This feeling will always last.
Let's never put it in the past.
