On Waking Poem by Rodrigo Diaz

On Waking

I shall never wake the same again.
Since our bodies first wreathed and burned,
I knew my life was forever for the better turned.
No moment shall ever compare to the rapture that we live,
Devouring, drinking every drop body and soul can give.
No other woman can set this blaze or send stout ship
Full sail to thrust, heaving to such intense coitus grip.
And at the climax of all desire, with nothing to rise above,
You can cause me to explode with one word - love.
But it was in the morning that I at last truly knew,
Whilst looking into your eyes of Mediterranean blue,
There is no other but you, and nothing can be the same again.
