There was yelling everywhere,
gunshots, screams and pleads.
The gun pointed at me,
you saved my life.
I'll never forget your touch,
your kiss, your laugh.
The sparkle in your eyes when
you said that you loved me.
Your smile when I said: 'I love you too.'
You pushed me away from the bullet, speeding towards me.
You died in my arms,
your body went limp in my arms.
I'll never forget your last kiss,
your last words, your last breath,
the last look in your eyes that said everything.
I'll never forget the day you saved my life.
A lovely heartfelt poem with well written lines. Thanks for sharing!
This moment of your life, or from your interpretation of someone else's, is sensitively portrayed. Well done!
...this actually made me cry. Maybe I'm in a crying mood but...ouch.
Very beautiful imagery and flow. I enjoyed your wonderful poetry
This poem is portrayed from the book Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picolut. It is one of my all-time favourite books to read. The book helped me create this poem in a way as if I was there, I found it easy to communicate with the characters because it is such an easy book to communicate with. I suggest reading this book. It is so easy to read, a sad book, death is involved unfortunately. Place yourself into the characters shoes so you can understand the book and the emotions. Thank you all for the kind comments and improvements, please message me if you have any questions or anything that may come to mind for you. Yours, Scarlet Outlaw
A nice poem, could use a little more to become even better! : D
