Skeleton Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Skeleton

Rating: 5.0

I am a soul your body has been my home,
Pleasures and pains of a mortal dome!
While running in the space like a projectile,
I recollect my pleasures and try to smile,
Alas! I can't, to smile I need a home,
So beautiful but delicate was my dome,
Some burned it to ashes, some buried it deep,
Entered with a bridal smile now leave and weep,

And what of smile I am deprived of my cries,
Recollecting pains helplessly look at the skies,
Look at the ashes in a holy river to the ocean,
Look at the skeleton that was once upon a human,
Capable of loving, when in love sounding in a kiss,
I now say my sweet home was a nature's bliss,
I am a traveler and life was a halt at a station,
Good bye sweetheart! Good bye my skeleton.

A poem of great depth that takes us to the realm of afterlife. Liked the penultimate closure line; " I am a traveler and life was a halt at the station." A well crafted write.
