Smoke Rising From The Floor Poem by Patricia Kelley

Smoke Rising From The Floor

I would be lying if I said I never sinned before.
The truth is I was a sinner before.
I had lived a broken and battered life before.
It wasn't until I asked for forgiveness that, my broken heart, was lifted from the floor. And I found a new woman raise from that wet soaked floor from the wept tears that fell on the floor.
My heart was broken many times before. There are still times I can still see smoke rise from the floor.
