The Power Elite

First you must
Betray your friends
To show you're loyal
To their ends;
Then accept their scornful laugh
As puppet in their evil craft;
For power is their mighty Lord,
And you must kiss its shameless sword;
But most of all, 'Do what you're told, '
To profit from your sale of soul.

When biting Boreas, fell and doure,
Sharp shivers thro' the leafless bow'r;
When Phoebus gies a short-liv'd glow'r,
