To Taste The Rain

In search for quiet solitude
I seek a place to stay
And find that peaceful solace
At the closing of the day

Not only in the darkened night
Do I search for sanctuary
But also in the days bright light
My body I could bury

Why do I long to stay inside
Like a hermit in its shell
Beneath the storm soaked rocks below
In silence where I dwell

Like thunderclouds on summer days
Absorbed and thick with pain
Longing for the downpour
Bending back to taste the rain

Love this, esp. the last stanza:

    ...Like thunderclouds on summer days
    Absorbed and thick with pain
    Longing for the downpour
Bending back to taste the rain

    -Very well written! (Report) Reply

The final stanza of To Taste The Rain is a poem in itself...I wish I had written something so sublime...exquisite.
