Trying To Realize Where I Am! Poem by Amitava Sur

Trying To Realize Where I Am!

Rating: 5.0

Sitting in an evening quietly alone
Being away from all my busy schedules.
Sitting on the river bank under a banyan tree,
Enjoying, how quietly the river flows down.

Small boats are gently passing
Under the moving white clouds
A flock of birds are flying back
Towards their own sweet nests.

The fading sun -
Is slowly approaching the horizon's end
Quietly witnessing it,
Getting a reminder of our life's end.

Looking towards the unending sky
Trying to realize where I am!
We all have to leave this earth
Definitely one day.

The sun is setting
At the end of the day,
Leaving a message to all of us,

Saying ' Whatever you do in this mortal life,
Finally, it will draw an end.
Think thrice before what you do,
Because, only your good deed will remain.'

Quietly flows the river... All thoughts keep changing from time to time. Beautiful message delivered at the end of the poem. Thank you.

Each sunset reminds us of a life coming to an end and each sunrise reminds us of a new start! The fleeting life on Earth is compensated by a perennial life extending to eternity! So earn more for a life that is to last for ever! Great thoughts Amitava

Beautiful poem with meaningful advice..... Saying ' Whatever you do in this mortal life, Finally, it will draw an end. Think thrice before what you do, Because, only your good deed will remain.' Very true said...Nothing remains, only our good deeds will be ever remembered by all...Loved the way you presented this poem.
