Will You Love Me Then Poem by Joseph Anderson

Will You Love Me Then

Rating: 5.0

Will thou love me come the'morrow
As you did in yesteryear,
For my heart is full of sorrow;
Tell me, tell me, my sweet dear.

If I falter when I'm walking
And my hair is gray and thin;
If I struggle when I'm talking
Will you love me, even then?

When I am weary, worn and bent,
With life's passions burned away
And earthly time is nearly spent,
Will you love me on that day?

Hush! My dear I 'eer shall love you
Come what pitfalls are in store;
Those precious vows, which I renew
Shall remain, forevermore.

Joseph, you touched here on the essentials of love. Being IN love is infatuation that comes and goes but Love (without the 'in') is something completely different. It is the lovely things we do for each other and the feeling follows.The more we give in such a 'LOVE' the more we get. You wrote here in very melodious words and in excellent rhyme one of the fantastic aspects of true love. Excllent work, Joseph, very inspiring.

I agree with this very lovely write Joe. As we all grow older and we surely will our outlook on love itself should get better. Eyesight may dim and miss every whim, Walking may be slow as we all know, love may grow old but still stands bold. Love never fails. Oh how I love thee let me count the ways. These words are a womans dream. Made my heart flutter. Truly enjoyed.
