Abigail Paul Poems

I am a dreamer,
Mind lost in the proverbial clouds,
Cluttered with words upon words,
And infinite worlds full of people,
...

First day back,
Humidity high,
Lazy rain,
Tension high.
...

My thoughts are troubling,
A mystery to those around me,
Even to myself,
Swirling,
...

I am neither ignorant nor oblivious,
So much so as that I just ignore things,
I ignore then so I don't think about them,
Because if I think about them I won't stop thinking about them,
...

Cliche,
Both my favorite and least favorite word,
The epitome of the status quo,
An ancient trope I hope the world soon forgets,
...

7.

Soft,
Familiar,
Taboo,
Curious.

Self-Aware Subconscious

I am a dreamer,
Mind lost in the proverbial clouds,
Cluttered with words upon words,
And infinite worlds full of people,
All of my design.

I am bored,
Plagued by it,
A perpetual state in which,
My mind retreats into my daydreams fueled by nightmares.

Yet,
It seems,
My mind always finds it's way back to you.

I never ask for it,
Sometimes I don't even want it,
But you're there,
Always,
In the back of my mind.

There is Utopian paradise,
There in apocalyptic horrors,
There in my darkest fears,
There in intimate thoughts.

Just there.
