All I know is I have known this poem since I was about 10 yrs and that was in the 60' s. Last couple of lines are different but not much

I don't know what year you say you wrote this poem (Don't Ever Fall In Love) ....I can't find that stated anywhere, but I learned a folk song with those identical lyrics in 1964 and used to sing it in coffeehouses with my female partner.
