Picture this, how would it be,
If we devalued it all and picked a global currency,
Far greener than any USD bill could ever be,
And began stuffing leaves into our wallets?
...

An eventful morning in the month that marches,
Potential to add to the comeback belt's notches,
Saw shortly an hour and a half very stressful,
For Remontada 2.0 unsuccessful.
...

The new season began with a tearful goodbye,
That's seen many expletive-filled reactions hurled;
It was a change of colossal proportions, true,
As it went on to shake up the footballing world.

The Last Leaf On Earth

Picture this, how would it be,
If we devalued it all and picked a global currency,
Far greener than any USD bill could ever be,
And began stuffing leaves into our wallets?

Denomination proportionate to size!
Variegated ones? No use, so they're not nice.
And to eyesore, from sight for sore eyes,
Would go the planet that provides us sanctuary.

Might make us more inventive,
As saving the Earth receives a fresh incentive.
Could happen it'll make us more perceptive,
Giving us a golden chance to learn to share.

Or we might start a fight,
And spar for every single leaf in sight,
Oblivious to migrating birds dying mid-flight,
As the Oxygen supply faces technical difficulties.

Divide between poor and rich,
Would still exist, ever the persistent itch,
And more deserts will form given this sitch.
We may start mining, then, for seaweed.

Not too different from today,
With leaves vanishing for currency anyway,
Prehistoric Stonehenge being formed everyday,
In many parts of the world that once was.

Wondrous, watching a leaf grow!
Tender pale green to green, red or yellow,
With multiple hues, almost a veined rainbow,
Helping us respire by doing the same thing.

Before things turn really bad,
The plight of vegans turns tragic from sad,
Somebody put a leaf in a MasterCard ad;
Should likely be done for everything of value.

Should there be any dearth,
Forget you water, all future wars will birth,
For sole possession of the last leaf on Earth,
For the unstated all-important right to breathe.
