the child inhaled with joy and amazement
one second before floating drowned, dead and sunk
but now filled with wonder.. laughing, breathing and hugging
what had grabbed her & pulled her right out of the grave

I worry a lot about elephants
It consumes me to think it could be
There are men of my kind, who kill elephants to find
tusk and hide the reward for their deed
