He could have leveled with the country, taken precautions and led us through it
Instead he played it down, called it a hoax and totally blew it
So don't ask me to praise him

And so much bile in your heart

Once upon a time occupying the moral high ground meant something
It meant you were working for the greater good
It meant your views were based on cherished values
It meant you strived to be upright and humane
