I don’t expect a ten,
Just some respect, man,
Because with a head and a pen,
I can make ten deny “tan”:
...
Man 'Tanned' Ten
I don’t expect a ten,
Just some respect, man,
Because with a head and a pen,
I can make ten deny “tan”:
Being graded shows your need to improve
And what else you need to prove
To the teacher you have the groove.
The purpose doesn’t consist of being hit by a “hoof”.
I know there is ambition,
I know they have recognition,
But unfaithfully doing their mission
Is an embarrassment for their profession.
I hate when people hate
And do this on a regular rate.
I know these people’s fate,
So I can be satisfied with an eight.
A ten doesn’t make a man.
It is knowledge that makes a man.
You don’t need a ten to be someone’s fan,
Just respect for who you are, a fighter, a man.
People have logic, so why don’t listen to it?
What’s easier: getting an A or keeping it?
So even if someone has an A where it doesn’t fit,
It won’t surprise me if it turns to F, bit by bit.
I don’t only tend to get an A,
I tend to keep it, to keep it the rest of my life,
Not only after school, as if it were my wife!
I won’t even stop there if I may…
I would work and struggle for days, months and years.
I’d do this till I get to that place with forgotten fears.
Even my teacher would say: “What kid? ! Who knew?
Too bad I didn’t trust him, that this would come true! ”
So remember these words of mine.
Surely you want everything to be fine
And that your profession would mightily shine.
So try to accomplish this, please, at least by a nine.
Trust me; you don’t want to come to a point of guilt.
Wouldn’t you rather come to a point upon which to build?
The fact is that I find a certain situation kind of ironic.
But don’t worry, to understand, you won’t have to be bionic.
Man gets “tanned” by ten
And yet ten gets “tanned” by man.
In other words, you sensed dignity obtaining a ten,
So why don’t “brighten” in roll of evaluator then?
The situation seems very sad.
This might get someone very mad.
For some it is something not that bad,
For others something never to be had.
Teaching is an art
And must be done with heart.
So please give exclusive attention part by part
On what I had to say about this on my part.
As for all those who got underappreciated, what can I say?
“Thank you for strengthening me
And thanks only for inspiring me.
Thank you for letting all of this be.”
This would be the message to the teachers,
To all the preachers and believers
That believe that success is the only option you got
And feeling or backing down as well as failure’s not.
With a head and a pen
I can make ten deny “tan”,
Because I don’t need a ten to be someone’s fan.
What I need is respect for who I am, a fighter, a man.
If you are my teacher, I strongly recomend to read this when school ends. If you are a student, read this poem before the new school year.
