I saw with awe, disbelief, and wonder
A Man riding on the crests of the tempests in yonder
And, smiling amidst raging lightning and thunder
Yet, there cropped an uncanny feeling within:
...
When darkness assails and despondency prevails
Thou take me by my arms and lead me unto the doors
That open out in the soothing Light;
When warring postulates of claimants to glories
...
It sounds distant to many while to few near,
But, very few are they who hear It loud and clear.
It reverberates:
When leaves rustle and clouds rumble,
...
I hear inside an incessant cry
Of the petty little self-'I' and 'my'
It smells a stroke and wags its tails
Eager to serve and all that entails
...
Akin to flower to some
You are plucked in bloom.
Akin to dust to some
You are trod upon carelessly
...
Days bygone and yet to come
Never again will they make my life tiresome;
I have nothing to gain or to attain
Delivered for ever I am from pain and strain;
...
