In the dead of night, As the moon shone bright, I walked past a house, That gave me a fright.
The windows were cracked, The shutters were creaked, The paint was all peeled, Like it's seen worse than bleak.
I heard a faint sound, In the silence profound, A whisper, a moan, Was someone around?
I entered the house, As quiet as a mouse, The floorboards would groan, With every little souse.
