I've felt sunlight caress my hard skin.
I've felt the way water seeps into my roots.
I've felt myself grow, deep within.
I've stood my ground, through countless disputes.

A better country
Is what I dream of.
A better country
Shouldn't be this tough

It was like fate.

'How's The View From Up There? '

I've felt sunlight caress my hard skin.
I've felt the way water seeps into my roots.
I've felt myself grow, deep within.
I've stood my ground, through countless disputes.

Sometimes, the birds ask me, 'how's the view from up there? '
'I've seen countless things, bears and hares,
And I've held my ground, against harsh air.'

But now, things are different.
I'm somewhere else now, still benevolent.
The mice sometimes ask me, 'how's the view from down there? '
'I've felt countless things, the steps of humans, the warm heat that blows, from the fireplace, from the stove, from the groan of the old oak chair.'

'Sometimes.. I get tired, I no longer have branches and leaves,
I no longer have bark that acts like sleeves..
I no longer sway from the harsh air that blows..
But now I feel humans, as they come and go.'
