Gerald Brilliant Mtetwa was born on 24 February 1983, born to Lilian Whozhele and Russo Boymarch Mtetwa in the city of Gweru in Zimbabwe.
He did his primary school in Kadoma where he stayed with his mother and siblings after Boymarch just left and never came back.Gerald later went to Gweru where he stayed with his brother Lewis Mtetwa and two siblings Winnie and Tekeler Mtetwa.
In Gweru Gerald did his Ordinary level Certificate at Matinunura High School.He then did his Advanced Level Certificate at Solars College.And went to the University of Zimbabwe where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Economic History and Philosophy.
He started writing when he was 13 years old and was always the best his English lesson class.
