Harriet Auber (1773–1862) English poet and hymnist, born Middlesex 1773, died Hoddesdon,Hertfordshire 1862, daughter of a Church of England clerygman.Her actual name was Henriette, but she was known as Harriet. Best remembered for her Spirit of Psalms published in 1829 and for her hymn "Our blest Redeemer, ere He breathed," a treatise on the Holy Spirit and His work.
