J. R. Ryan Poems

My Love
My Love I'm broken now
I've finally come around
I see your point so clear.
...

Griffeth mans the station
Standing slumped and still
I believe he is at peace,
But I almost think he's ill.
...

Periscope's down 'Prepare to Dive.'
'Load Torpedoes. Men, prepare your lives.'
It's Ten p.m. on a starry, starry night,
and I don't think we're coming up tonight.
...

I see a pale and sickly horse.
I never speak of her teeth.
I tell a fairytale no more.
...

Once so long ago and bound for earthen gold
I set out for the North, so to find my Julie Ann.

With dreams a dreamer dreams

I've Seen My Love's Grace And It's Gone

My Love
My Love I'm broken now
I've finally come around
I see your point so clear.

My Love
My Love, I confess I'm wrong
Resentments stayed too long,
But you have healed these wounds.

Grace
Your grace carries through
The mess I made, true.

My Love
I can not repay you.

So I'm putting this down
To hear your voice in mine.
Your thoughts, your heart- divine!
Your breath has sent me home;
No longer can I stand.

My Love
My love was not such lust
For life, for this, for us
Now I release as I must.

My Love
You take not away
I am here for today,
And the rest for us is best.
And I can hardly stand

You've seen
A man flush a fortune away.
The drink goes down the drain
That brain of yesterday

Gone
Gone and gone away
Days known as yesterday
The sun rises for your song.

So I'm putting this down
To hear your voice in mine.
Your thoughts, your heart- divine!
Your breath has sent me home;
No longer can I stand.
