The Best Poem Of Jan Foster

Covid Came To Call; And That's Not All

Many of them, sad and weary, with a pain so deep ingrained- Sat in sorrow, slept in shadows, nothing ventured, nothing gained-

Then came Covid, here to take them, freed from pain forevermore- Soft and silent, tapped their shoulders, "here I am" just like before.

"Black's my color, don't you know me, I'm your savior, I'm your bro- I can save you from your ‘misry, come with me, not far to go

Here we are now, gather round me, can't you see that I'm your friend- Never wonder why I chose you, I'll be with you to the end"

Then came Floyd, to displace him, Covid didn't have a chance- "I'm the new kid, say ‘hello now, ' welcome me to the dance-

My name's hatred, my name's evil, I exist because of them- Those who brought me to their towns - hey, I'll take over if I can"

Now we have two, each competing, who will win and who will lose- Or, will they join together, friendly foes who pick and choose

Watch them play now, near the dark gates, near the gas and flash bang bangs- Ever watchful, ever closer, to the avengers, just out of range

"So we'll draw now for the last card, whose hand will get the best? Come bet with me, play with me, don't be shy, come join the rest"

Now it's silent, all around them, knew they not what happened then- Some say war, some deny it, some aren't sure and some say men

Came to cause the final chapter, came to close the narrow gap- Came to answer for the thunder, came to know ‘twas just a trap

Destroyed the exit, just in front then, closed the door and locked it tight- Left no path to get the hell out, welcome home, there's no more fight.

No more fright

No more…….
