Growing Up

Growing up is not so tough
You will be just fine.
Even when things get rough
Remember stars always shine.
Try your best,
Just make sure to be happy.
You will be impressed
Just don't get yappy.


There will be times you doubt yourself
Be a queen,
Beautiful and proud.
We all fail at one point or another
Fall off track and forget what's important.
That's apart of growing up,
Just remember who's here for you.

You, my dear, will question yourself
And try to fit in with the social norms
You will try to look better for others
But you need to know they don't matter.
You will try new looks,
You will try to misbehave.

There will be times you doubt yourself
Be a queen,
Beautiful and proud.
We all fail at one point or another
Fall off track and forget what's important.
That's apart of growing up,
Just remember who's here for you.

Look at you now,
You grew up and learned what life is.
I miss the old days,
Where I would hold on to you.

You settled down,
Have a husband and a great job.
You made your mama proud,
And now you're having a girl
who will ask for advice and you will say
