Jeffrey T. Bender has been an avid reader since before the age of 5, boasting a 10th grade reading level in the 4th grade, and a College grade reading level by the 6th. He has been writing fiction stories since the age of 10. He wrote his first poem, a 14 line sonnet entitled 'Mind Decay' at the age of 15. Many of his early fictitious poetic works were inspired by the likes of Edgar Allen Poe, Stephen King, and Robert Jordan, as well as the lyrics and themes of various Pink Floyd songs. He has since then written upwards of 26 poems including another 14 line sonnet, and is in the process of writing his first novel, 'Of Kings and Rings and Shiny Things'; a novel influenced by the collective works and general style of the late great Douglas Adams.
