Grandma's House
The other day I took a drive, to the house where I used to play;
There I was loved by two, playing my games was their forte.

The Note Beneath Her Picture
This simple little frame on my desk holds A picture
of the most beautiful woman this side of Heaven.

JUST MY SHADOW AND ME
Though I toil the whole day long in this hot burning sun, I don't think of my troubles; it's the atmosphere.

No Greater Love
Suddenly, without warning, he broke loose from my hand, jumping from the curb in the path of a fast travelin' van. Screaming in terror, I ran to my child lying in the street. It was all over in less than a heartbeat.

Grandma's House
The other day I took a drive, to the house where I used to play;
There I was loved by two, playing my games was their forte.
Anguish gripped my heart as I looked through the open door,
no signs of life I saw, as I slowly walked down the corridor.
The furniture in disarray, wind had whipped the drapes to shreds.
Looking in every room, nothing but dust did I find on the beds.
Slowly I walked out of the house, I sat in a broken down chair,
never have I been so tormented as in this hellish nightmare.
I said, 'I'd love to come and see you, but that'll have to wait,
tonight I have another party, tomorrow a special date.
Friday nights are parties, Saturday nights are dates.
Church is every Sunday and back to school next day.
I'd like to come see you but I don't know when I can,
My life is very complicated and I just can't work it in.'
Now my heart is filled with grief. I can't turn back the clock.
If only I could see them now, I'd drive or catch a cab or walk.
