Him

I met someone
a man
Beautiful and Black
Dark, christened by the sun
A rare treasure
buried under
broken promises and faded dreams
A blessing to me
to finally see
into the eyes of a
fallen star.

Sometimes, I imagine this man
Glorious
in all his beautiful dark
wrapped up in me
consuming me
like a black hole
a marvelous Black cape
covering me
draping over me like a blanket.
We blend into each other like colors on a canvas.
Other times, I imagine we are trees
his kisses become wind
rustling
through the branches
limbs, stretched out
an embrace that angels would envy.

When this man touches me,
atoms
neutrons
protons and electrons
pulsate through my body
giving small electric charges
to a vacant, abandoned heart.

His neck houses the sweet scent of a thousand ancestors
He is beautiful!
Chilled from the cold of hurt
but warmest under my careful touch
I lose...
I lose myself every time
he laughs!
or smiles!
or gazes!
or speaks!
small flutters pump
through my blood
like mahogany butterflies.

I stand in awe
not believing
how his
illustrious
moisturized
skin
melts into mine;
his fingertips
across my lips
is a pleasure I never knew I needed.

In the presence of a dark
KING
I feel the light
of wholeness.
