For it is because of this pain that I now know what it means to be alive.
It is the darkness that accents the light.
It is the tears that allow the glint in my eye.

She wastes her life under the covers of her bed.
She longs for release, but chooses to wither away instead.
You see, she is afraid of the horrors that reside within this place.
She keeps herself secluded, just in case.

Stepping stones.
Just a little piece of hope in the middle of the rushing water.
Look for the next, take a step, move on farther.
Dont become discouraged if the next is hard to find.

I weep for the pain that has yet to come to this world,

Yet in the same way, for the love that has yet to be shared, I rejoice.

I raise my hands up to the sky,
my heart so light I feel I can fly.
Though outside it may be raining,
it’s as though our life resides within an exquisite painting.

Ink splatters, nothing matters.
Dreams collide within the human mind.
Restless nights can lead to dramatic fights,
and it’s the nightmares that take over.

I look you straight in the eye and tilt up your chin.
I know you are afraid,
but sometimes you need to let your emotions win.
You have to put your heart on the line and take a chance.
