" Panivada" means one who plays a percussion instrument with hands. Instruments such as Mizhavu, Mridangam, Maddalam, Thimila and so on. Here 'n' is as in 'tune', not as in 'line'. Nambiar plays Mizhavu in temples as a background score to Chakiar Koothu and Koodiyattam.
