He took her heart and smeared her blood across the page
She took the page and folded it into a paper flower
He took the flower and tore it up, discarded in the trash

So many faces, so many names!
How am I to immortalize them all?
The marvels, the jokes, the many joys
That belong to every one?
...

The dream was simple
With a hint of something
Gloomier:
A shaky apprehension
...

The path of life, a lying friend
Hurtles me 'round every bend;
Towering hills grow in my way
To bring me hardships every day.
...

They sneaked out at night
To give their parents a fright
Sinking out of sight
In a place beyond the light
...

It rises like a crescendo
Steady and quite sure
Then falls like a cliff edge
And I know of no cure
...

The thunder of busy roads becomes a constant reality,
Litter on the streets attracts a plague of misery;
Unwelcome guests can crawl inside underneath your door
A padlock is the only thing that keeps your home secure
...

It's your choice.
