Lesiba Matlala Poems

I Am A Woman Disowned By The Caress Of Men
They are harshly laughing at the tired feet of my abundant life
Shaming me recklessly at my lowest
Watching me silently in pleasure of seeing my body turning into punching bag
...

Let me look at your optic
And stop sour liquid of sadness oozing from behind
Allow me to sneak stealthily in to you
To comfort your soul

I Am A Woman Disowned By The Caress Of Men
They are harshly laughing at the tired feet of my abundant life
Shaming me recklessly at my lowest
Watching me silently in pleasure of seeing my body turning into punching bag

I said I am a woman
Not a tool to de-stress thy itching fist to twist and rip rips of my defenceless soul
Oh I'm so thwarted in you, man.

Trauma it is now a friend
Living with a shadow of fear of man following me around
I once said; death be not proud
Yet now I summon thee to send me where you sent others

Dear men
I thought in your arms
I will feel the essence of betterment waving as bubble candies oozing out in anew chimney

Now I'm scared to even step with you in a holy matrimony
For fear seems to follow me
around
And fear that one day our nest of love shall become a ring for you to find pleasure in battering
And feeding my body with obloquy

As I weep
Don't finish up my soul
Let me live once

Violence was never a tool to be used to fix and it will never be
Motho ke motho ka batho
Bophelong a re aganeng ka botho
For how long shall I weep in misery?
I stand indispose whenever I post myself before your sight
Oh I worship thee to have caress and mercy upon us
