the nights last laughs
I ponder over my drunken
Stupor

When she spoke
Her words melted
Like velvet
And I longed to be

Sticky webs that crept up
And kept on
Spinning around me
Drowning me in confusion

Groggy eyed newness
Made me want to see
The world
Through a different perspective
...

Empty shell that once held such vibrant light
Distinguished before the wick was charred enough
Or scarred enough by life
Because even in the short span that held your breath
...

I will not play games with you,
I simply don’t have the time
Or energy it takes
To care enough
...

Your prismatic shadow
Bursting fiery cascaded softness
Into mine
And I have fallen once again
...

It’s almost kind of exciting
How I don’t know
If I’m coming
Or going
...

When you are giving
I pull away
Not sure what it means;
Ulterior motives
...

I used to drink your spirit
Sweet, soured, succulence
Insatiable to your beckoning
I’d follow you to the earth’s edge
