Maria do Rosário Pedreira graduated in Modern Languages and Literatures (French and English Studies) from the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Clássica de Lisboa (Classical University of Lisbon). She also studied German and Italian.
After five years of being teacher of Portuguese and French, activity that exercised decisive influence upon her decision of writing for youngsters, she subsequently joined the editorial career with great success being even considered the greatest discoverer of literary talents in recent years in Portugal.
