Monique Mendoza Poems

It's your birthday today...

Add a year old,
and you're turning gold...
...

‘Tis mirror I see, come back to me,
to that first bloom of young nature’s tree.
The first sunrise you came to see,
From my very womb, you were set free.
...

This one's for my best friend who is currently residing in another country. I gave this to her on our first anniversary of being best buddies.

A mixture of bees' gold-
Yellow and brown
...

I only miss you on the days that end in 'y'
And Every time I draw a smiling sun
under the dark rainy sky
And whenever Re-walking the streets towards home
...

As the soothing twilight breeze,
with ever so gentle hands,
cheers the mourning fallen leaf;
brings it far away to lands.
...

Together with this random crowd, I walked under the summer heat
I heard a bird flapping its wings.. No, it was my overreacting heartbeat
Something caught my attention; it wasn't the sun nor the people falling in line,
It was your eyes; I held your gaze as you held mine.

The Best Poem Of Monique Mendoza

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

It's your birthday today...

Add a year old,
and you're turning gold...
And the wrinkles on your face'll
surely keep its pace.

But I'd like you to know,
as much as I'd like to show...

That I will love thee
even beyond your diamond jubilee!

(This one's for my dad!)
