I dare not say her name for fear that I'll
Become consumed by long forsaken woes,
Though maybe I've been happy for a while,
It has been years since last this dread arose.

Eyes of gold will seek what troubles the meek
Those in the valley aspire to the peak
It’s hard to get there with these weights on my feet
I’ve been running forever on this hopeless street

Had we a heart for the love we had shared
God could have been kind and just left us a pair
But maybe our senses got into the way;
It had to be darkness that shadowed our days.

Life’s cage is true belligerence
And ignorance, its Lock
The young die bold
The old die cold
...

In one long note, the song is sung. The hopeful dirge has now begun.
What started with a coward’s cry continues with an honest lie

Would arrows shot in parallel bring forth an end to actions fell
The first struck hard into the lamb, and soon the second’s sure to land
...

The flower planted long ago
Has reached its bitter end
No longer is it beautiful
It’s withered now and gone
...

I didn’t know then and I can’t say that now,
I know all the ins and the outs or the how,
But I’m living and learning while still missing you,
And it seems pretty clear that you’re missing me too.

Impatience with a body ever slumping and resisting
That emotion of a moving, never-ceasing human being
In the energetic body of a person caffeinated
While this sluggish couch potato on his journeys fabricated
...

The melancholy disarray
That grows inside my head each day
Is caused by one consummate girl
Who brightens my entire world
...

A sunrise wanes into the day
As pink clouds fade from red to grey
While keeping thoughts of age at bay,
Within the frame of Dorian Gray.
