best
you can eat fresh corn

when i die i hope no one who ever hurt me cries
and if they cry i hope their eyes fall out
and a million maggots that had made up their brains

they clapped when we landed
thinking africa was just an extension
of the black world

The laws of science teach us a pound of gold weighs as
much as a pound of flour though if dropped from any
undetermined height in their natural state one would

is sit and wait

god's sperm falling
in the receptive

Trees are never felled . . . in summer . . . Not when the fruit . . .
is yet to be borne . . . Never before the promise . . . is fulfilled . . .
Not when their cooling shade . . . has yet to comfort . . .

Backing out the driveway
the car lights cast an eerie glow
in the morning fog centering
on movement in the rain slick street
...

walking down park
amsterdam
or columbus do you ever stop
...
