A Mystery

There is some mystery in the woods,
in the dark or lighter green all leaves took
as a colour for their own.
One goes in, one's never shown,
no more shown to friends or foes,
swallowed from their heads to toes.
Swallowed will get any sound,
any but the eagles shout.

Many I saw go in there.
Some with sadness, some with fear
written clearly in their face.
When I drive by this foggy place,
I take a look and dwell upon
the ones I loved,
that have been gone
in this place of earthy smell.
I wonder
did they find peace, a place to be
together and there wait for me?

One day I as well will disappear.
I will leave no traces, nothing clear.
It is not my dream, it is not a fear.
I just know that on one day,
I will have to run away.

There is some mystery in the woods,
I hope it will stay undefined,
cause one day I will have to find
out this secret on my own,
going in, but never home
forever, not just for a while.
And at that time, when you drive by
YOU should take some closer looks!

Cause even though I now don't have a clue,
THEN I will shout and wave and wait for you.
