2009 Poem by Jamie Dewyer

2009

...and opening forward found
still
with this tasted sound
words forming like a storm
over her heart

i let it all happen to
open a doorway to
waste
and detatchment and
fear
for the rain to come

we walk but our steps are not
tracing this strain of thought
aching to reach aloft
aching to seethe

however you see thru me
translucent and weathered see
right thru the sun in me
into the core

2

this haven is built with twigs
remnants of sacralige
scraps of my broken home
tendrils of shame

i have given you everything
dust where my name should be
traded my lust for fame
souled away everything

3

in coma she spoke to me, lips blue like aspirin
shadows formed in her skin
oceans away

i could hear your heart breathing in
tearing the leaves off trees
waking the dormant greed
of mother natures seed

apostles have come to bleed
take what has sunken in
her ghost is in my spleen
carring weighted dreams

4

they have given name to this
form
they have singled out
truth and the idea that
trust is still tanginble
in this most akward age
cameras bleed on stage
fashion and shell
fashion and shell
fashion and shell
