3 A.M. Poem by MICHAEL VILANOVA

3 A.M.

She awakes at three at 3 a.m.
Asking herself who i am
Next to her lays her new lover
Wrapped all under the warm covers
Crying she decides to text old friend
Broken will her heart ever mend
He answers her text for hes awake
Cause life is more then he can take
There he lays that dark night alone
Just him and his smartphone
Both enagge a few pleasant words
But none of them are even heard
As the glow of their phones come dim
Him. Alone and she still next to him
Both hoping to get some nights rest
He wondering how he failed life test
Slowly she cries herself back to sleep
Asking herself why did i awake and weep
There he lays that dark night alone
Just him and his glowing smartphone
He lays next her that morning at 3a.m.
Her weeping asking herself who i am
