5. Dream Poem by Daniel Cobb

DREAM:
'WHISPERS IN THE WIND'
Palm-trees sway in the wind;
The sunlight is streaming.
This is such a beautiful place;
I’ve gotta be dreaming.
Rain falls in showers;
I smell the sweet fragrance of each flower.
In the middle of the meadow,
There's a colorful rainbow.

The sun sets behind the trees,
As leaves sway in the breeze.
The wind is whispering,
But I can't hear a thing.
A cool breeze caresses my face;
It blows gently through my hair.
It chases away all my worry;
My fear is no longer there.

I drink from a clear pool,
In the waters all around me.
Beneath a bright blue summer sky,
I feel so free.
I lay on the soft grass;
The clouds fly by - I let them pass.
The neon sunset makes me weep;
Finally, I fall asleep.

On a silent night,
My soul lifted up in flight.
Then there was a bright flash of light;
I woke to the silver moonlight.
A peaceful feeling came over me,
And then suddenly I could see.
The two halves of my soul
Were then united and made whole.


'SUCCESS COMES FROM FAILURE'
Do what you have to today;
Let nothing stand in your way.
Success is failure inside out;
Hope is born in a time of doubt.

This is not the time to give in;
Just find something to believe in.
Don't give up or give in;
With one more try, you might just win.

There are many ways that you can go;
Which road is right? How do you know?
There are only a few paths that you can pursue;
Now you have to decide what matters most to you.

Now you realize you must open your eyes;
Find the truth within and look past your own lies.
When you come to the end, you'll see
Only you can set yourself free.


'WASTED WISHES'
Make a wish, but don't forget,
What you see is what you get.
Never let your dreams die or you won't have any;
Don't waste your wishes - you only get so many.

This life is short, so take a chance;
Don't leave it all till the last dance.
Dream no matter what the cost;
Better to have loved and lost.

If you don't give up easily,
Defeat may lead to victory.
Never know how close you are;
You may be near though victory seems far.

There’s a hole in your heart that you can't fill;
A monster in your mind that you can't kill.
You can try to make time stand still,
But you never will.


'HOLD ON'
When hope is lost
And evil has won;
You feel like the only one,
And the past can’t be undone…

When no one's there to dry your tears,
And you are faced with your worst fears;
When your laughing turns to crying,
And it feels like your dreams are dying…

When everything goes wrong,
Have faith - be brave - be strong.
When you're on your own in this life,
If you feel like letting go, hold on.

So listen very closely,
To what I have to say;
Though it seems impossible,
I know you'll find a way.


'BATTLE ON'
Then the look in your eyes I find
Brings strength and courage back to my mind.
My heart glows bright with a new light;
My enemy's eyes fill with fright.
I'm full of fear, but won't give in;
I have to fight hard if I want to win.
Deep down in me, there is a song;
I know I'll win if I battle on.

Now we stand face to face;
Somehow, I've gotta win this race.
There's no space for 2nd place;
So lets pick up the pace.
My heart's beating fast,
But I won't come in last.
I'm screaming out loud,
But I'm just another face in the crowd.


'THE KEY TO REALITY'
There is a dream
Hidden in your heart.
It has been there
Right from the start.
This world is dying,
Falling apart.
Reality will be reborn;
That's the best part.

Look into your soul;
Then you will know
Which way
You have to go.
Look into your heart;
Then you will see
Dreams are the key
To reality.
