911 Remembered Poem by Michael Peterson

911 Remembered

Rating: 4.5

Diving planes, Black smoke
Flaming fireballs, Scaring all
Disaster in the skies, shocking world
Falling people, falling buildings
Losing life, heroes saving
Strangers helping strangers
Tears flowing, the flag still blowing
Scenes of a movie, really moving
Seconds, minutes, hours go by
But the world stands by
The air is silence, no planes, no trains
Death falls a pond a nation
Who's to blame, what a shame?
Never ending nightmare
Signs of hope, survivors a merging
Heroes showing, help growing
Searching till the end of time
No soul, no mercy, no shame
Who cause the pain, lots of strain
A nation rebounds, a turn around
Many unsung heroes, many stories
Strong we grow, we will never sink so low
Heads up, many proud souls
We will never forget that day
The lights of heaven, sending souls to him
Candle lights for every lost soul
Many tears, pain so dear
A prayer for everyone's soul
That this will never still our souls
We are united and strong
Brought together by them
To create a strong love, a bright future
Life for all to enjoy
Moment of silence for those who suffered
So dearly, so merciful, living with pain
So many hearts, so many tears
We will never forget all that's lost
For 911 is a day of memories and strength
We merged a new person, you and I
Proud and strong, fighters to the end
America 911 lives in all of us
