A string can hold a love, a dream,
A promise woven thread by thread.
But one hard pull, one careless tear,
Can break what once we held so dear.
You may tie the pieces, one by one,
And say the damage now is done.
But knots remain where breaks have been...
A scar stays hidden underneath the skin.
Trust once broken won't return,
No matter how we twist and turn.
A heart may smile, a heart may sing,
But it remembers everything.
Sometimes we blame the string that broke,
Forgetting who pulled it with force.
And sometimes we weren't the ones...
We simply stopped
Holding on.
So let it go, don't force the thread,
Some things are better left unsaid.
A broken string cannot be restrung...
But a wiser heart can weave anew,
With stronger threads and colours true.
For every ending leaves a sign...
Some things break
So better things can shine.
