the way you were then
maybe everything is not
perfect for you

the way I am
now
maybe I think a little
too much
maybe I should take a day
off & see a Disney movie
maybe my heart is broken
maybe I trusted people
I never should have
maybe I say maybe too much
maybe I should look at the candle
and remember it's here
maybe the rain makes me
feel more than lonely
maybe the wine makes me
feel too good
maybe I should fear love
more than I do
maybe I should be angry at
my dad for leaving my mom
maybe I should hate you
for not wanting me
maybe I should love who
I was with last night
maybe I miss my good friends
maybe everything happens
for a reason
maybe I stay up too late
for no reason
maybe I say maybe too much
maybe I should just enjoy
