A Ceasing Language Poem by Danish Sarfraz

A Ceasing Language

Rating: 5.0

I am Punjabi, not a cult
Me not language of insult

Me the language of civilized one
Why oh, all ye shamed and run

Being slain by my own fellows
Ignored, insulted, like Shakespearean Othello

Unluckily, my literature, culture, folks dying
My all parts rusting none is buying

Homage to my Sikhs in the land
Hug me speak me and regard me the brand

Feel bad for all who've gone astray
Not me, had themselves betray

My extinction seems to be very soon
There is no resurrection but a dark moon

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Now a days Punjabi, a language, has been disgraced by its own speakers. They feel sorry and insulted while speaking this language. It's extinction is becoming certain day by day. I therefore deemed it fit to write this poem so that people, who read it, may have little compassion for this language.
