A Child's Smile Poem by Rashad Nyango

A Child's Smile

caught the baby staring at me.
At glance, I did not realize the gaze was at me.
Suddenly, our eyes met like the sky meeting the sea.
I fathomed from their smiling mood,
the energy the world needed-
Not only what is needed in the ‘hood-in America.

A child's smile is pure,
But obviously can be rare...
Inasmuch, they do cry and scream, but still they are a cure.
For you and the future.

What about their innocence.
They do feel neglected even though, with their maximal ambiance.
They do also feel the creation of a mother's magnificence,
That comes from the comfort of dad's presence.
