A Christmas Wish Poem by simon thorpe

A Christmas Wish

November rain shrouding the light,
Somewhere the sun will set, a crimson red,
Not here, not today,
Feeling festive, feeling silly,
Weeks away yet and not a angel in sight,
I need the sun likes a flower needs water to survive,
I need to watch the distant glow of the teary beacon as it disappears behind the rooftops,
I need to believe, I need to look forward,
Christmas, a time for fun, frolics an
d festive folly,
Is also a time to reflect on those less fortunate and those who have sadly departed,
Reflecting on the events and people that have shaped our destinies,
Gives us the reason to carry on,
Christmas is a time of hope and a time to give to those in need, we can all spare a little piece of our hearts,
The sun will set somewhere on Christmas Day, and I will embrace it in my minds eye!
The crimson hue will light the way for us all
