A Dream Long Lost Poem by Atimiwoaye Adetunji dayo

A Dream Long Lost

There i was when i taught the battle was lost
her acrid approach to my heart
though bitter but sweet,
even with every smile she draws me closer
only for me to know that my
feeling for her were flying away alas!
She had caught them with a wink
now, her wings in my hands
and mind in her arms closer with a force
i did tremble upon the first time
but yet my aim seem zany
far but closer i was when she did ask 'do you love me'
no i did say for you are more than love.
Then, her lips rolled on mine
and mine on her's in firm grip
and yet my heart know no love but lust
alas!
The dream is gone
morpheus had cheated on my desires
and here am i without a mistress
only to wake up from a DREAM
but yet, my dream was long lost alas!
She is a mile away
a bait i did use for her
and i thy master but thee my mistress
but the dream long lost shall be FOUND..
