A Familiar Place Poem by Elizabeth Haasch

A Familiar Place

There I say again
A very familiar place
I've been before
Talking in circles
And wishing for squares, lines
Anything but

And as I write
For my life
I can't seem to understand yours
Ours, theirs…

Them.
They will never know YOU
But rather this person you've been
I wish you saw how I'm reaching
Pulling, trying, to help
I've been there before
I've seen it happen so fast
You can lose it all
Lose it all
You can, but seeing is believing
They say
And believing me is something you do not see
